Ensim Announces Release of Ensim Unify Enterprise Edition Version 2.8
Latest Features Further Simplify Provisioning and Infrastructure Management

Santa Clara, CA — June 21, 2010 — Ensim Corporation, the leading provider of fine-grain user provisioning and change management software, today announced the immediate availability of Ensim Unify Enterprise Edition, Version 2.8. The latest upgrade provides substantial enhancements to this policy-based enforcement engine, giving organizations more control to enforce compliance and security directives without requiring the delays and costs associated with custom programming.

Ensim’s award-winning suite of provisioning and application management tools allows compliance policy enforcement at the feature level for the core collaboration infrastructure that includes Active Directory (AD), Microsoft Exchange, SharePoint, and Office Communications Server (Lync), as well as mobility applications like BlackBerry® (BES). Ensim Unify Enterprise Version 2.8 expands its proven role-administration capability to more easily allow organizations to implement and automatically enforce their existing compliance and security policies.

“Information walls within regulated organizations, which are designed to prevent employees with a potential conflict of interest from communicating, are a great example of how our policy engine can work to enforce compliance directives,” said Scott Young, vice president of marketing and product management at Ensim Corporation. “Being able to do this automatically, without custom programming, can save organizations months of development and millions of dollars.”

Key features of the Version 2.8 release include:

  • Role Administration & Security — The security and policy enforcement engine underlying Ensim Unify has been further enhanced with updates in role administration. The granular role-based delegated administration capability used by Ensim Unify enforces delegation of administrative rights, as well as pushes the delegation model into native management interfaces.
  • User Management Updates — Administrators can now submit extensible search criterions to the system to retrieve user data based on a role, provisioned template or any other Active Directory attribute.
  • Windows 7 Compatibility for Password Reset Tool — Administrators can push a password-reset tool to all Windows 7 desktops, enabling users to reset their password from their own workstation without any administrator intervention. Additionally, password reset operations can be configured to unlock the account and several other password policy enhancements have been added, enabling administrators to securely enforce password reset policies.
