Setting Automatic Prefixes for Active Directory and Exchange Distribution List Names 

Large and medium organizations that are often spread across multiple cities, states, or countries and have many divisions, departments or other operating units are always looking for a way to standardize the naming conventions. Creating and managing these groups and lists without standardized naming conventions can easily create a huge and confusing headache for IT admins and help desk. 

Ensim Unify allows administrators to standardize and enforce naming conventions by automatically attaching prefixes to groups under management. This provides an easy way to identify and organize these groups by location, department, or function. For example, Finance departments’ companywide may share a prefix. Similarly the sales organization may wish to have business rules that assign individual prefixes for specific geographic areas such as Americas, EMEA, and Asia-Pacific regions. 

The goal at the end of the day is to have standard naming conventions that are enforced through the software that everybody understands. Simple enough.
