Major Updates and Enhancements to Unify Shared Edition
Ensim Unify Shared

The latest version of Ensim Unify Shared Edition includes the following new features:

Migration Tools
The new Ensim Migration Tools for Unify Shared Edition help service providers migrate Microsoft Exchange data (mailboxes, distribution lists and external contacts) from Microsoft Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2007. They enable you to test and automate the migration tasks, through a simple web interface, dramatically reducing the costs affiliated with this transition.

Support for Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0
Unify Shared Edition is the first control panel to support Microsoft's new Dynamics CRM 4.0, the multi-tenant version of Microsoft's customer relationship management (CRM) application. The integration of the multi-tenant CRM version with Unify allows quick deployment of this popular application. This allows providers to easily add Microsoft Dynamics CRM 4.0 as part of their hosted offering, with minimal capital expenditures.

New Service Manager for Microsoft Terminal Services
With Unify’s Service Manager for Terminal Services, enterprises are able to provide a cost-effective solution for deploying Windows applications to their employees, regardless of location. Businesses also gain access to new market opportunities, by deploying their applications directly to client machines around the Internet. Terminal Services is a component of Microsoft Windows that allows users to access applications and data stored on a remote computer over a network.

Microsoft Hosted Messaging and Collaboration (HMC) / Windows-based Hosting (WBH) Technology

  • Support for Windows Server 2003 R2, SQL 2005 and MPS 2.2. With Unify 3.2, service providers can easily deploy Exchange 2003, Windows SharePoint, Live Communications Server 2005, and Windows/Linux Web hosting with ASP.NET, MySQL and MS SQL as hosted services.
  • Support for .NET 2.0 – the latest version of the Microsoft .NET Framework.
  • Providers can easily add Web parts to the Unify control panel. This is done by either downloading ASP.NET-based Web parts from the Internet, or by creating their own Web parts and plugging them into Unify.
  • Unify can be installed over an existing HMC deployment. New services can be provisioned through Unify to take advantage of the additional features.

Microsoft Connected Services Framework (CSF) 3.0

  • Unify 3.2 Web services support Well-Enabled Services (WES), allowing Web Service Enhancements (WSE) for Microsoft .NET. This enables any application provisioned by Unify to automatically work with Microsoft CSF 3.0.
  • In addition to existing Microsoft applications like Exchange and SharePoint, service providers can offer additional ones such as BroadSoft’s BroadWorks®, RIM’s BlackBerry® and Siemens HiPath OpenScape™.

Resource Selection Policy

  • With Unify 3.2, providers can now choose between First Fit, Round Robin, and Least Sold Key Quota policies while provisioning a Unify service to an organization.
Other Features
The latest version of Unify also includes locale management, deactivation of email templates, password validation using Active Directory (AD) policy, expiration policy for organization user password, usage report optimization, modified API calls, and new Web services for managing resellers, resources, templates, and usage alerts.
